Sculptures

I started making fabric sculptures about 29 years ago with a cheap sewing machine and some plain unbleached muslin. Now my pieces are much more complex and colorful, and much more infrequent, I’m afraid. Book illustration seems to take up most of my working time, but I try to get a few pieces done each year. They range in size from about 10 or 12 inches to almost six feet and are made from muslin, painted with ink and acrylic paint, and clothed and/or embellished with a variety of fabrics and trims. I usually sell them through Abacus, a beautiful craft gallery in Portland, ME. I will consider commissions, depending on time available.
